Microsoft Copilot: The Future of Learning & Development is Here
Let's dive in and explore Microsoft Copilot, especially how it relates to L&D, and focus on how it integrates into PowerPoint. I am a Mac guy through and through and have been for years, so it is kinda painful to talk about Microsoft products, but I have to hand it to them; Copilot is amazing. I walk you through how to quickly adopt designs, create page layouts using Designer, and create content and slides with simple prompts.
You can then quickly import those slides into tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Lectora. I am not saying to use only that content, but it could help you with a starting point, and you can adapt and change it from there. Let's dive in and explore how it can be used.

Add Incredible Emphasis Animations to Storyline 360 with GSAP
Переглядів 3,5 тис.День тому
In this video, we use GSAP to emphasize objects on stage in Storyline 360. I have had code out there showing you how to do the basics, but in this latest video, I simplified the code and showed an easier way to do mouse hover events and mouse out events within Storyline. That functionality is not native to Storyline, so using this simple javascript snippet, I show you how to trigger events even...

Once you did, it would reset the animation and not go to the location you ...

xAPI Extensions: The Missing Key To The Extra Data You Need!

xAPI is powerful. It can track learning events and create a record of them. The record is stored inside a Learning Record Store, or LRS for short. The record of the event is broad; you store who the person is, what action they did, and the object describes that action. While that is a lot and revolves around the action the learner took, there are times when you may want more context. That is wh...

    Awesome vid. not sure I agree with your distinction between margin and padding though. Margin when dealing with a text box is attributed to text formatting and is controlled by the formatting ruler, but padding is the invisible "border" attributed to the shape. Web design and canvas setup margins have different meaning again... (I get that this will be converted to Html5 script when published and therefore technically you'd be right)

    Great video! I also noticed this problem a while back when trying to use GSAP from my own code and found this same solution a few days ago. I have a slightly different implementation that you might find helpful. Check out the gist linked below. The central part of it is a function that calculates and returns the scale factor. You can then say, xValue * scaleFactor, store it in a variable and pass it to GSAP instead of first subtracting the object dimensions from the slide dimensions. Ok, so UA-cam didn't like that I had a link in the comment. Hopefully, the above explains it well enough

    Thank you, Jeff! Is there anything we should consider when it comes to targeting an object with the data-model-id? Is there anything that would make it change and make our JS useless?

    • @danielk1ss
      @danielk1ss 21 день тому

      One example just came into my mind. You can target multiple objects throughout the course if the code is used on the slide master and you give the same accessibility text to all the targeted objects. You cannot really do that with a unique data model id.

    • @LearningDojo
      @LearningDojo 19 днів тому

      When you publish the file that is that, nothing will break with the code so you should be fine but when you republish with a new version there may be a chance it breaks if Articulate updates or changes there code so that may happen with republished files but I have not come across that yet myself.

    • @LearningDojo
      @LearningDojo 19 днів тому

      Accessibility text yeah could happen but the data-model-id is generated unique for every object so you should not run into duplication like you can with the accessibility text so I think it is a safer way to go for now.

Thanks for the tutorial, I'm slowly diving into the gasp functionalities ;) I came across a problematic situation and maybe you know the answer - I'd like to combine storyline motion path with gsap (for example to scale or rotate during movement). When I apply gsap to the object, the motion paths stops and gsap animation plays. This has probably something to do with pause() method. Do you maybe have a clue how can I combine those two?

      Yeah I run into the same thing. I would love this ability. I wonder if some custom JavaScript could help with that but have not tested that yet.

      @@LearningDojo I have also tried to put the image as a background for one of the sub-master slides. So whenever I need a slide with that image I will just use the one particular master. It seems to solve this problem and have the timer on top of the image. However, though it looked great when I was creating the slides, the image background turned dark when I previewed or published it. I have opened a ticket with Articulate regarding this image issue.

      @@lanma2658 Yeah curious what they say. You may also check if your layer is being presented as a modal in your slide settings. That may be a reason it darkens out.

    This worked great for displaying the current date... I want to lock out the final test for 24 hours if they fail. I've got everything in place and am using the top pull the system date, but the part I can't figure out is how to check if the current date is at least 24 hours AFTER the date when they failed... I imagine this should be possible but my java skills aren't good enough.

      Hmm, I am not sure how to lock out the quiz though. Are you talking about disabling the Storyline button that allows them to retake the quiz for 24 hours? You might have to have a variable but the problem is keeping that in place after they close the course. That may have to use like a LMS storage or something. Might be beyond what I have ever done as well.

      @@LearningDojo I think I figured it out doing something similar to your months, capturing a variable called "failday" = day, "failmonth" = month, "failyear" = year, and then changing the state of a button when the timeline starts if "failday" < day etc... everything is working as intended, but I need to wait for tomorrow when the system day changes to confirm... if it works I'll post a sample on the storyline forums and update you here. You're video and the month thing was the first steps... resume state appears to only work correctly as a separate storyline file, not when imbedded in rise.

      @@kyleyates6706 Sorry for the delay but curious of that worked.
